This is the third book in The Inn at Shining Waters trilogy (River’s Song & River’s Call). Over two years have past since the end of River’s Call and Sarah has been gone all that time. The book opens in June 1978 on Sarah’s 18th birthday, the day she returns to her family’s home on the river. For the last two years, Sarah has been living on communes. When she returns home, she struggles with fitting into the world outside of the commune as well as fitting in with her family and learning how to forgive.
This was a satisfying end to the trilogy. I enjoyed reading it and following Anna’s, Lauren’s and Sarah’s stories to completion. Melody Carlson made me feel the emotions of the characters and allowed to me to be in their heads and understand all their ups and downs, their struggles and their triumphs.
I give this book 4.5 stars.
I received the galleys of this book from Net Galley for the purpose of this review.
This books comes out in August 2012.
